Tally-ho! Let’s Go!

Joining us makes you part of a long tradition, but our members say it is the lifelong friendships with new experiences that come with every outing that they value above all else.

How to Get Started.

We strive to accommodate different levels of rider by arranging several groups (or fields) of riders led by a Master or Field Master who will help guide you to safely enjoy the sport. Depending upon the area we are in there may be a few jumps where we are riding, but vast open spaces and some rugged terrain. You have to have a willing horse and a trailer to get to us.

You do not have to have all the gear – formal Western attire and tack are always welcome (approved helmets and footwear are required) whether you are riding as a member or a guest.

Casual Ride

Third Flight.

A good rider and confident of your horse, we’ll pair you with a member who will ensure you are well back but safely in the mix. You’ll be primarily at a walk or trot with no jumps.

 Membership Fees.

We hope you're intrigued and interested in joining us at the next hunt! You can view all of our available membership fees on our Membership Fees page and review the available packages and information so you can decide on the perfect experience for your riding needs.

TNYH has three seasons where we enjoy the sport:

Spring Season

 Spring Season

The spring season begins in mid-April and runs to the end of May. We initially have a couple of dates for hound exercises which are perfect days to bring out your horses and get them accustomed to the hounds and other horses. Dress is casual for the hound exercises. Once the season begins, the dress is a Ratcatcher jacket, shirt and tie and riding britches. Once the spring season is over, we have many events, including Hunter Paces and casual summer rides in different venues.

Spring Season

 Summer Season

The summer season begins in mid-August and runs into the formal fall season in September. We also have a few dates for hound exercises which are perfect days to bring out the horses and get them accustomed to the hounds. Dress is casual for the hound exercises. Once the season begins, the dress is a Ratcatcher jacket, shirt and tie and riding britches, but on hot days jackets are excused and we ride in polo shirts.

Spring Season

 Fall Season

The fall season begins the Saturday after Labour Day with Opening Meet, the first formal day of the season. We wear our formal dress on Saturdays throughout the fall season. On Wednesdays, the dress is a Ratcatcher jacket, shirt and tie and riding britches. We ride into mid-November, and if the weather is favourable, we schedule some extra days for hunting. During the fall season, we have "hunt breakfasts" after the day's hunting. Sometimes we hold the breakfasts at a member's home, a close-by restaurant or pub or during nice weather; we have a tailgate breakfast at the fixture. On the Thanksgiving weekend Saturday, we traditionally have the Horse, Hound and Harvest Parade, where we parade the hounds and horses through downtown Creemore. On Thanksgiving Monday, we enjoy the fall colours with a Hunter Pace with a scenic ride.
